Virtual production
In our virtual production studio, we create virtual content with Unreal Engine to offer you the best in real-time 3D. Virtual production provides complete immersion in a created environment. This is achieved by projecting animated or static digital backgrounds all around you, onto a green screen.
This allows you to be in your chosen world and explore it at your leisure. Our physical and virtual cinema-quality cameras capture both immersive images and your interactions with the environment which are then recorded or broadcast live on your channels.

Our virtual production studio in Montreuil
Our virtual production studio is located near Paris in Montreuil within easy access of the capital.
We have a dedicated 50m² green screen set that is equipped and optimized for efficient and quality virtual production.
High performance workstations run real-time Unreal Engine universes as a network.
A control room for streaming and broadcasting performances live.
Lighting and tracking systems to capture and integrate digital characters and avatars (performance capture + camera tracking).

You have a goal but no precise brief to give us: is that a problem?
Not at all! Most of our clients have a goal, some constraints and a few ideas about the kind of experience they want, without more detail.
That is exactly why we are here: to shed light on things and set you on the right path. In our first conversation, you can tell us what you need and we will hold a first brainstorming session: that is where the field of possibilities opens up!
I am an artist and want to hold a live online concert in a virtual world: can you help me?
Absolutely! We can support you on this project from concept to broadcast. SoWhen? has all the expertise in-house to make the most of your live virtual concert project, and the virtual production studio is right at the heart of its premises. Whether it is creating your real-time virtual world, your avatar and its motion capture, or broadcasting on the platforms of your choice, we can handle the entire project.
We want to create an avatar of our CEO in the metaverse: can you make it?
Our team will be delighted to create your avatar! Depending on your goals and wishes, we can suggest different creative directions (fictional or realistic avatar…). We model it with full knowledge of the constraints of its animation, and optimize its design accordingly to make the next steps easier for you. We can then also handle its animation (motion capture, transfer into the virtual world, rendering…).
I have created a virtual brand world and would like to hold interviews in it: is that possible?
Our virtual production studio lets you conduct interviews immersed in your virtual world in different ways. Depending on your constraints, goals and the type of experience you want, we can advise you on the most suitable solution.
We want to create or have a presence in the metaverse so our brand can connect with its audience: what solutions do you offer?
The solution will depend on the type of experience you want to offer your audience, and on which audience you want to offer it to.
What activities, what interactivity, how do you want to speak to them?… Is the target audience used to virtual experiences (gamers…)? What do you want to create with them? What should they remember? Should they be able to visit whenever they like? With what devices (VR headsets or desktop…?)
It will also depend on your constraints: mainly time and budget.

Is your virtual set a green screen or an LED wall?
We chose to build our studio with green screens rather than LED walls for several reasons:
- A green screen studio is more affordable, which makes it accessible to more people.
- A green screen makes it easier to handle the shadows cast by people (less post-production).
- A green screen is much more eco-friendly: it uses no electricity and doesn’t heat up the set (so no extra air conditioning needed…).
Our studio is equipped with a green screen and the best equipment and technology available today, for cinema-quality results!
