Phygital and Virtual Reality (VR) communication system for HP

Company of the Future - digital event communication

2 IN 1 PACKAGE: AN INTERACTIVE PHYGITAL INSTALLATION AND AN IMMERSIVE VR EXPERIENCE

The objectives of this interactive and Virtual Reality installation:

To offer an experiential communication device to visitors of the HP stand at the “Company of the FUTURE” congress in Lyon, France.

To explain each step of the recycling process of an HP ink cartridge, and the different phases and trades involved in this virtuous circle.

Two approaches to choose from:

  • a Phygital experience: participants can activate the circle and stop on one of the figurines that represent a specific stage of the HP cartridge recycling process, and then see the corresponding information displayed on a screen.
  • a VR experience: participants are immersed in the world of HP and can discover each step in the life of an ink cartridge by playing and participating in the different activities.

The challenges

  • Offering two separate experiences of the same content to offer simultaneous access, providing variety for the different types of audience visiting the HP booth.

  • Conceptualizing a “double-entry” system allowing for two independent interactions with the device (1. Phygital communication with the wheel. 2. Immersive communication with the virtual reality experience).

  • Creating a device that can be easily transported and set up, and would not take up too much space at the HP stand.

  • Creating a long-lasting system that can be reused by HP with no external assistance needed.
